Directional Boring and Underground Conduit Placement
Patriot builds underground fiber routes across Pennsylvania and the surrounding states, using directional boring to cross roads and obstacles and trenching in open ground.
Directional boring takes conduit under roads and other obstacles without opening the surface. In open ground we trench deep enough to leave backfill cover over the cable, and in rocky conditions concrete slabs go in over it. Conduit goes in with conductive marker tape so the route can be located years later. Cable is tested on delivery, pulled within its tension and bend radius limits, and every surface we open is put back as good or better.
